WHAT'S HOT, WHAT'S NOT!
Volume 1
Issue #11

News of the week from the Pebble Beach Car show has D4C "Fearless Leader", Jay Olins, reporting on NEW F.M. models being shown for the first time! The 1953 Cadillac will be brought back, this time in RED, and as an L.E. of yet undetermined numbers! This was a truly nice model in the long discontinued white; it's sure to be a sellout as an L.E! I only wish it would have been brought back in Azure Blue! Although, it might be an interesting piece next to the RED 1954 Chevrolet convertible! The 1955 Ford Crown Victoria will get a FACE LIFT, as it will be done in a purple/white combo, and is reported to be an L.E. of 9900! BTW, have you seen any PINK/WHITE ones offered lately??? It's currently N/A, and USUALLY when this happens, and a NEW paint scheme is introduced, the old one is GONE! (i.e.. PINK Edsel, RED/WHITE Ford retractable, etc.) MIGHT be a HOT pick here! How about a LARGE SCALE 1957 PEWTER CORVETTE (not sure if 1/8 or 1/12 scale) in a L.E. of 1000 at a cost of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1000.00!!!). It will come with a PERSONALIZED plaque on a wood base! (This MIGHT be an interesting piece! Do you remember the PEWTER Model T production Line F.M. produced years ago? I believe it was also a limited piece and sold for $1200! A DAMAGED one sold on e-Bay for over $350.00 with a CRACKED wood base, and NO glass enclosed top! I've seen them sell as high as $1500.00 on the secondary market when complete, and in MINT shape!). The problem with PEWTER is that it is very susceptible to mishandling, and easily bends or breaks! Certainly would have been a MORE desirable piece if done in diecast metal! A 1/12 scale 1911 Rolls Royce with OPERATING LIGHTS will be available for $495.00! (Does anyone remember the 1948 TUCKER with operating headlights? It was on the F.M. computer MANY years ago, but I have not seen or heard of any available! Perhaps Raffi might have some insight on this one! Probably proposed, like the S.F. Cable Car and Tonka Toy Dump Truck, but never brought to fruition!) The 1939 World's Fair Blue Ford with CRANK UP WINDOWS will be offered soon, a very nice little touch, and certainly a step up in model making! (Are you listening D.M.???!!!).

QUESTIONS, Questions, questions.... We do get our share of them asked, and feel that some of them are important enough to be addressed here in the WHWN! A newer collector to our ranks, Bud McCormick brought up a good question that is often thought about but very rarely addressed! He asked "ONE THING I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT YOU ADDRESS IN WHWN, IS WHAT IMPACT IF ANY, THE LACK OF BOX, AND OR PAPERS HAS ON THE VALUE. I AM ALWAYS UNSURE WHEN BIDDING WHAT THE PRICE SHOULD BE IF PAPERS/ BOX IS MISSING." Here's one that I'm sure will get a lot of differing views on. There are collectors who will NOT buy an F.M. model if it does NOT have the ORIGINAL styrofoam box and outer cardboard box, along with the COA, blue spec. sheet and CARE instructions! You could offer it to them at HALF price, and they would still refuse it! If that's the way they ENJOY collecting, so be it! Myself, I'm not BIG on paperwork, it gets to be CUMBERSOME when you get more then a few hundred models in your collection, and I hardly look at them except to find out some detail that I might have forgotten! I would MUCH rather have the styrofoam box only, as moving and shipping them, (in MY case), is facilitated by these, and F.M.did NOT intend those grungy, white boxes to be anything more then SHIPPING containers! D.M. models, on the other hand, should have both styrofoam containers and cardboard boxes. These boxes are done nicely to identify the model inside, not by a part # that you have to go and look up to find out which model it belongs to! Again, only an opinion! As a rule of thumb, if a model is a common one, (still in production, or easily obtainable on the secondary market), papers and box can mean a difference of ZERO to $10.00! Remember, we are collecting model cars here! I've found that on the RARER models it can mean as much as $100 or MORE, (case in point, box and papers on the cutaway Corvette motor, almost IMPOSSIBLE to find complete on the secondary market). I've seen 1940 Duesenberg papers sell for $50 by themselves, as have the 1982 Limited Edition Corvette papers! There is NO SET price on this sort of material! I keep a record on the better models, making notes about boxes, papers, problems, price, etc., and refer to it often! But, this is my business, and it PAYS me to know this info. For the casual collector it's not that important. To the investor, it DOES mean something, and I have many customers/investors that do just as I do! Unless you are doing it for the possible investment end, just buy them to enjoy, and let time, and crazy people like me, make your hobby worth more down the line!

My buddy, Steve Massaro, had put the following on the D4C board, and I thought it would be of more then some interest to many of my readers. Steve scribed, "Errors... I remember a time in the not too distant past when the Metropolitan Club wanted mistakes corrected on its little Metro. After much deliberation between the club and the FM, the corrected version was produced. This was the desired one to own. The '55 Pontiac Catalina was released with narrow whitewalls (I have one) and customers let FM know that was wrong. My personal friend has a 1:1 of this car and was mad at FM's mistake and returned it! As of late its the "discovery" of the incorrectly painted rear panel of the Skyliner. Again, customers wanted the correct version. The point I'm trying to bring out is that these should be considered MISTAKES and not be blown up to "error status" as it seems to be happening. The '57 Corvette was a true error because the car was altered from the already correct version. If we look at every diecast in our collections, I'll bet we would find a mistake in every issue. IMHO, I think this error thing is getting stretched a bit." I know Steve is a purist as far as these models go, and I respect his opinion. BUT, the fact is that these ERRORS, (let's NOT call them errors, I prefer VARIATIONS as a more precise definition), are a BIG part of all collecting fields! I'm not going to drag you through the coin, stamp, BEANIE BABY error thing again, (check my archives if interested!), but, if finding a VARIATION causes a STIR in a large group of collectors, I see nothing wrong with it! Raffi's already stated that some models had 3-4 changes made to them within their issued run! It's FUN trying to find them! Because of my handling so many models over the course of time, I might be a little more attuned to this then most! How many would have picked up the fact that the 1913 Model T truck was produced in 2 different color wood finishes, and one had a 1916 hang tag? Not of much interest to the fellow that just wants one for his collection, but to us CRAZIES, it's NEAT, and something we want to have! I'm still getting calls from NON-internet collectors that are just hearing about the '57 WW Corvette now! STILL much in demand, no matter what anyone thinks about this model! Net auctions and private sales bear this out! Anyway, anything that causes interest in our hobby, brings in NEW BLOOD, and causes a good deal of spirited dialogue, can't be bad!

Keeping with the above train of thought, Doug Downing had posted another question on the D4C board. He queried, "Why does it seem that FM and most all others have so many so-called "error" versions but I never hear about errors from DM? In fact I haven't really heard anything much about LE's from them either.... curious eh? " This is just pure speculation on my part, but I would think since F.M. produces so many more models then D.M., (I'm not talking team trucks here), that the odds that F.M. would produce a variation is greater! Remember, D.M. has Creative Master, (NOT Creative Masters, the Revell company!), in Hong Kong make their models! Visiting the Creative Master website (www.chinaresearcher.com) you'll note that they produce model cars for Mattel, Action, Road Champs, First Gear, along with D.M. and others! With that kind of customer list, I believe their QUALITY CONTROL is by far HIGHER then F.M.'s IN HOUSE organization could hope to achieve! IF Creative Master made a run of faulty models, and was caught by the company that commissioned the model, I would believe that Creative Master would have to EAT their mistake and re-do another run of corrected models! If not, I'm sure they would suffer the consequences of losing a GOOD customer! Now having said this, who remembers the FAULTS of D.M.'s 1958 Fury rear wheel placement, and the comments about wrong colored engine components under the hood of the 1969 Charger? These are considered MINOR by most collectors, and D.M. has NOT changed any of these mistakes! Perhaps on the next run of these, a ROLLING change will be affected, and sooner or later someone will notice it! I have to give F.M. praise for pulling and/or changing any faults that have been pointed out to them that are GLARING mistakes. Unfortunately, since THEY created it within their corporate structure, they will have to spend money correcting the already made pieces, or just bite the bullet, and take the loss! Getting to the L.E. question, F.M. seems to have "SEEN THE LIGHT" when it comes to these! I KNOW it was a battle to get F.M.'s hierarchy to take a gamble and produce the WHITE Lincoln back in 1996! (forget about the Collector Edition of 4200 Model T Ford, as that's a STORY unto itself). Now we are getting L.E's of 2000, 5000, 7500, 9900, etc. A GREAT marketing tool for them, and sure to increase in years to come! Each new L.E. model has brought a lot of EXCITEMENT into the collecting arena! Talk on the Net, their FEEDBACK from Gallery management, their MAIL ORDER inquirers, all indicate that this is what the collector wants! The TREMENDOUS rise in prices of L.E. models over a short period of time once they are discontinued, and introduced onto the secondary market, has not gone unnoticed! I'm willing to bet that F.M.'s sales have picked up markedly since these models have been produced! If we checked D4C membership in the last year, I'm sure that the growth of the club has increased more this year then any year before it! Almost every customer that comes into my store mentions the fact that he bought a particular model at X, the issue price, and now its worth X+Y! A smile on his face belies the fact that besides LIKING to collect the models for their intrinsic beauty, the thought that they are WORTH MORE then he paid for them is PARAMOUNT! D.M. is just going in a different direction! Now getting to their TEAM cars and trucks, Garfields, and Betty's is where their major effort is directed! Apparently this is WORKING for them! They're having a RUN of Garfields, and Betty's, (See the NEWEST BETTY here! OH JOY! Yes, Irene is going to order it!), and if these weren't doing well, they'd be GONE! Instead of doing an F.M., and bringing out a continuous run of L.E. REPAINTED models, their 2896 (or you pick a number!) different '53, and '72 TEAM Pickups, and '57 Chevy and '66 Mustang TEAM cars are where they're putting all their eggs! They have, and will be giving us some new, and exciting models, but nowhere as numerous as before! Perhaps D.M. will get the idea of ADVERTISING these TEAM pieces as LIMITED EDITIONS of , (put number here please), or so in their upcoming national ads! Nothing like telling a SPORTS NUT that there's only 34 million of these being produced, and if you don't buy it by 2020, you'll be SOL! (shucks, outta LUCK!). If it works for the cable channels at 3 AM in the morning, (please, NO MORE McGwire signed, gold, retired, limited edition, rookie, #9 graded by IYBTYAJA ((If You Buy This Your A Jack Ass)) trading cards for 4 payment of ONLY $199.95 ), it WILL work for D.M.! Personally, I'm GUN SHY of any L.E. from D.M.! Us old timers remember the BLACK 1956 Ford Pickup that was a limited run back in 1994! It was one of D.M. most wanted models! In a fit of magnanimousity, (Did I just MAKE UP a word? Spell check doesn't know!), D.M. authorized a small group of these to be re-issued to the D4C club, (I can't remember if they FOUND some more or MADE some more, I know someone will clear that up), back in 1997! That small amount was GOBBLED up rapidly, and this model STILL kept its vaulted position to the collector! Along comes January of 1999 and POW, hey, look, in the new D.M. catalog! There's a BLACK '56 Ford pick up shown in all its glory, UNLIMITED supply and all! On second thought, D.M. I'm presenting you the "WHAT'S NOT" this week for UNSPORTSMAN LIKE BEHAVIOR to your once loyal and devoted customers! Want to make it up to us? Try giving us a D.M. D4C LIMITED EDITION!!! (Naw, falls on DEAF EARS!)

Last weeks revelation that the F.M. 1967 Morris Mini Cooper Rallye car was pulled from F.M.'s current lineup has brought a few onto the secondary markets auction sites! This has caused quite a stir with the after market crowd with a high watermark, so far, of $201.00! Very few of these were able to be grabbed up by any single person, (I KNOW as I tried my best!), so, for now, we have a very volatile model! I was quite surprised that only 2 were offered so far on both e-Bay and D4C! To me, it indicates that this is going to be one scarce issue!

Let's take a look at this weeks auction highlights in review! The D4C site was up and running perfectly again so no interruptions here!

Sunday 8/13--- Nothing super on Da Bay today, but some interesting sales! A Bentley Franay brings a STRONG $112.51 on a $120.00 RETAIL price. The 1992 Blue Rolls Royce is a 1 bid sale at $125.00 very close to full list. An UNOPENED C.M. Shelby Mustang only gets a $122.50 sale to the lucky buyer. Two '69 L.E. Camaros sell for $225.00 and $211.00 respectively! This model, as you'll see, is all over the place in pricing this week! From a low of $210.00 to a high of $280.00! Seems the WEATHER dictates what these will sell for! Two 1956 L.E. Chevy's are sold within an hour of each other $127.50 and $165.00! Where's the $37.50 difference? A Harrod's Jag gets $300.00 JUST keeping it's head above that magic $300.00 mark! A Good deal was the '56 L.E. Pontiac going for $315.00. This model SHOULD be much higher! Staying off it's high watermark were 2 Bonnie & Clyde Bullet Hole cars at $381.00 and $320.00! Seems the THRILL is wearing off this unusual model, and as mentioned quickly last week, a F.M. RED 1961 Jaguar sells for $338.33 with VERY spirited bidding! Apparently they are GONE with no plans on reissue...YET! The D4C action was fairly calm. A gold Tucker brought $102.00 on RUMORS that F.M. is CLOSE to having all 15,000 FINALLY sold! The '55 Red/White Chevy is STILL desired at $125.00! I KEEP hearing rumbles that they are down under 500 left! No one apparently can give you a STRAIGHT answer! The Neat SURFER Woody was hammered sold at $182.00 on a $195.00 list! For an old Hot Rodder, beach bum, like me, it was a MUST HAVE! Gnarly man! An Exoto Paradise Version of their '63 Corvette brought a strong $227.22 to that Corvette collector that must have them all! The B&C Bullet Hole car is gone for $320.00 fetching the same number as the lower priced e-Bay car for this day. The F.M. '59 L.E. Caddy brought $265.00. A respectable price. Pay attention here as these are being offered less and less, and should be a PRIME candidate for another price hike in the fall! Remember how the complaints poured out about the WRONG roof line? Seems now that it's SOLD OUT, the roof line is easier to live with! Closing this day's auctions was a SCARCE Red MG/TC bringing a decent price of $351.51.

Monday 8/14--- e-Bay was a little more interesting today. A '55 Red/white Chevy Hdt. brings $122.50. A '99 and '98 Xmas pick ups get $134.00 and $152.50 respectively, a good deal for the buyer! A Red L.E. Chevelle is a NO SALE at a paltry $305.00 offered, while a MINT SEALED 1957 Caddy Eldorado, never out of the box gets a NICE bid of $455.00! THAT'S a gamblers special! I know at that kind of money, I want to be SURE about what I buy! Just a helpful hint here. IF you are buying or selling this model in the winter, think twice! The extreme temperature differences between different parts of the country will make the model expand and contract JUST enough to do damage to the paint! HAPPENED TO ME! An unusual combination was offered today, a Black '61 Lincoln and an Airstream trailer sold as one unit! The Lincoln was missing the hood ornament, and had a HITCH put on the rear bumper! The Airstream was supposed to be perfect! No box or papers on either, and it brought a winning bid of $555.00! This could be a VERY good deal, depending on how the models arrive! Personally, I'm getting tired of hit and miss shots on e-Bay, and would just rather pay the money for a correct vehicle that comes from a known seller! Just an opinion from one who BUYS A LOT! Of course, I HAVE come up with big winners! Guess it's like I said under the Sunday sales, it's the WEATHER that dictates what I'll chance buying! A '57 WW Corvette SELLS for $510.00 on TWO bids! (Track the prices for the rest of the week!). An unusual offering again on e-Bay had 10 of the 12 Sterling silver antique cars produced by F.M. in the 1980's sell for $255.00 each, (one got a $280 bid!)! These are really a sight to behold, but I feel that price was a MIGHT STRONG! Usually these sell in the $75-$125.00 range! A case of more then one person wanting them, and having to get them NOW! ( I just bought one off another on-line auction for $78.00!). The '73 M-B 450 SL L.E. was bid up to $555.00, and again was a NO SALE, as sellers REFUSE to take this kind of money! I don't blame them! A final auction today was a RARE 1986 F.M. Mid-America pace car which was bid to $792.52, and did NOT make the reserve. The D4C auction had some interesting bidding, and NO BIDDING today! A 1915 Stutz with no box or papers was a NO SALE at the $175.00 reserve. Hummm! F.M.'s '69 L.E. Camaro falls for a puny $210.00 bid. The '57WW Corvette opens and closes at $350.00 on a one bid buy! A much talked about RED 1929 F.M. Rolls Royce error, err...VARIANT car is a NO SALE at $1000.00! No word anywhere about this rarity! Seems folks are just sitting back and waiting to see what will happen! Last one tonight is another Mid America Corvette that is a NO SALE at the $1150.00 mark! As most of you know, I have these available for $995.00, and because of the models being out on e-Bay and D4C, I sold 2 of them today! Here's a case of astute buyers CHECKING available sources to see what prices were! One gentleman said, he would rather buy mine then take a CHANCE on someone he didn't know, and bidding it to an unknown price! Lesson learned!

Tuesday 8/15--- e-Bays BEST buy of the week goes to a D4C member who happened to pick up a PMA '35 M-B 770K Hirohito for $92.15! The consignor had F.M. and PMA all mixed up in his description, and this model had no box, but for the money, a GREAT deal! Congratulations Al! The F-40 Ferrari was another good buy at $111.55 box, no papers. The discontinued white '35 Auburn brings $153.05, and as a hat trick, 3 models fall for the same price of $294.99, a Harrod's Jag, (falling under $300 for the first time in about a month), a red F.M. '61 Jaguar, and a C.M. Ferrari 330 P4, (remember when these were $500-$700!). All were nice buys for their new owners. Last e-Bay sale was an F.M. '69 L.E. Camaro at a soaring $224.50! Seems the buyers took the night off on the D4C auction with an Al Capone Caddy failing to open at $75.00, the same for a white Auburn at $150 and a '37 yellow Cord at $125.00! A few others that did get sold included a D.M. '53 Chevy Pickup in Florida Gators regalia at $102.99 on a $145.00 issue price, a D.M. '53 blue Buick at a very strong $145.00, and a '41 maroon Lincoln at $160.00! It looks better for tomorrow's D4C action!

Wednesday 8/16--- As LIMP as the D4C auction was Tuesday night, e-Bay must have caught the germ! A red F.M. '56 T-Bird sells for 113.49; bet you didn't know this is N/A from F.M.! Check it out! A F.M. '49 Buick Roadmaster convertible with no box or papers sells for $132.50; bet you didn't know this is N/A form F.M.! Check it out! (Did you hear an echo???). A '39 Duesenberg Simone, (I call it a Raffimobile!), sells for $143.27. I LIKE it, some HATE it, buy it, it will grow on you! The weight of the model is unbelievable! The '15 Stutz, MIB brings $183.49. A Harrod's Jag gets over the $300.00 mark as it sells for $301.00, and the closing sale is a C.M. GT-40 #9 car, (the oldie, but goodie), selling for $359.00! Seems the prices are a little depressed on this since the almost identical #6 car should be introduced any day now! LOTS of action on the D4C site! A now sold out Millennium beetle sells for $101.00, the first SPARKS of life I've seen in this L.E. of 7500 model! Perhaps there IS hope for this! A D.M. Pierce Arrow with 2 nicks on fender fails to draw the modest $120.00 reserve. Believe the consignor was a new member, and people tend to shy away from folks not well known! A '58 Pink Edsel goes for $125.00! The turquoise one is nicer, but this is now LONG GONE, and should start to draw more respectable bids! The ubiquitous 1956 L.E. Chevrolet sells for a better $156.00! Sorry, just no pressure to make this model FLY! The much desired '57 Eldorado, this one with perfect paint but missing a mirror, is STOLEN at $200.00! The aforementioned ORIGINAL 1956 D.M. black Ford pickup sells for $305.99!!!!!! Must be some folks STILL don't know it's CURRENT! The ever present '57 WW Corvette gets a higher $362.89, while I missed a '70 Mach I at a very reasonable $335.00! Two NO SALES today were a '56 Pontiac L.E. at $265.00 and a Hispano-Suiza Tulipwood at a decent offer of $380.00! A F.M. Diecast U.S.S. Missouri sells for a reasonable $411.00! If you haven't seen it, please do, as it should be in any F.M. diecast collection. They truly outdid themselves with this one! The last offering today was a D4C Corvette being a NO SALE at a $600.00 reserve! These models are just NOT available under $500, but have a very hard time breaking $600! Still NOT BAD for a model many of us paid $115.00 for! (Wait till the next LECC Packard Darin appears, instant $300+ car!)

Thursday 8/17--- Fairly quiet today on both major auctions with e-Bay selling a '58 Corvette for $101.00, (I should check, and see if this is now N/A! Prices are just too darn high on this model to be anything else!), and a '51 LeSabre show car getting $103.01 on RUMORS that this will NOT be re-issued once it has QUIETLY sold out! The lovely '40 Duesenberg with box, no papers, and missing a mirror changes hands for $197.62! (I could sell Duesy hood ornaments and mirrors at $25.00 each, and make a BUNCH of collectors happy!) The '57 WW Corvette is still getting sold at $360.00, and a MINT Tulipwood, no box or papers, sells for $242.40! A good deal, as I sold one for slightly more privately at $295.00! We'll look back on these prices, and kick ourselves IF F.M. doesn't bring it back out! Each one is UNIQUE with the wood on some being reddish, others, a pleasant dark brown, and each with its own distinctive wood grain pattern! Every time I get one, I compare it to the one on display and pick the one I like the best! ( Hey, a guy has to have a little fun while he works!). A '57 Black Chevy Convertible is sold for $135.00 on D4C, that N/A status makes people stop and think! The same with a '49 Buick Roadmaster that changed hands for $152.00! This was always a sort after model on the secondary market, especially since the movie "Rainman" came out showcasing it! Buicks are just NEAT! (Oh, how I wish for a Desoto!). A Ferrari F-40 box but no papers sells for $130.00. The '59 L.E. Caddy again draws a $260.00 final call, and a B&C Bullet Hole car is out of here with $320.00! The last sale this evening was a '73 L.E. M-B 450SL that was on display at M-B in Germany! It had no outer box and is a little dusty, but everything else is all there! I just couldn't resist at $421.00! Probably the CHEAPEST this model will sell for from now on!

Friday 8/18--- Quite a few interesting models being sold as pairs and threesomes today on e-Bay! A '32 and '53 Cadillac, mint, no box or papers were sold together for $178.50! Think that was a good deal, how about a pair of Rolls Royces, an '07 and a WHITE 1992, again mint, but, no box or papers for $283.07. (The white one alone should be $400!). Another very good buy was a trio of F.M. models, '32 Deuce Coupe, '56 AQUA T-Bird and a '41 Lincoln in the same condition as the previous 2, going for $355.00! A '41 Lincoln by itself was sold at $152.50 and a '39 Maybach from the same consignor was a giveaway at $192.50! The '57 WW Corvette sold for a more modest $340.00, and the newly pulled '67 Morris Mini Rallye sells for $177.50 in what might be a very cheap price for this little under-rated model! The D4C auction had some interesting sales as a Bugatti Atalante sold for $120.00, (could this also be N/A??? That's a strong price on a model that virtually never sold for over $100 on the secondary market!). A Duesenberg Coupe Simone sells decently for the second time this week at $138.00. A second SURFER WAGON drifts, (do you get it?), away with $155.00 as the winning bid. D4C's first Morris Mini Rallye car hits the high watermark with a $201.00 selling price! (Stop smiling Kevin!) The F.M. '69 L.E. Camaro is out of here for $225.00, and a '49 Ford P.B. sells for $360.00! A C.M. Ferrari 330 P4 sells for almost the identical money as one on e-Bay did a few days before with $299.99 taking it! (For a model of 500 or less, these P4's are MUST HAVES for someone collecting the entire C.M. run!). Climaxing the night's fun was a Airstream trailer with box and papers going for $615.99 with some spirited bidding!

Saturday 8/19--- I guess the summer weekends do take their toll on auction activity as D4C and e-bay were not very active. The '51 LeSabre sells for $108.50 on e-Bay, keeping it's high secondary market price. A '59 Caddy convertible was STOLEN while I was busy with customers at $167.50! (Always happens, I wait 4 hours for an auction, and 2 minutes before, I get a phone call, someone comes in after it being like DEATH in here all day, or Mother Nature drags me to another room, and I just can't say NO to her!). The pretty '56 Aqua T-Bird is taken to Texas for a $181.00 bid! (You OWE me on that one Chris!), and a B&C Bullet Hole car sells AGAIN for $325.00! Three '69 L.E. Camaros sell today. The first one brings $280.00, 3 lots later the second sells for $237.50, and 20 lots after that the third brings $280.00 again! No figuring this out, just makes no sense! The last e-bay lot of this weeks review was a '57 WW Corvette getting a NO SALE with a $400 reserve! A sparse night for D4C with a D.M. 1942 T&C and their '69 Charger, each selling for $101.00! I feel that's very good for 2 currently available models that sell RETAIL at $112.00! An F.M 1935 M-B 770K sells for $125.59 with no box or papers, (one of F.M. prettiest offerings, just stately!). A PMA 1931 M-B 770K Kaiser Wilhelm draws a decent price of $280.00, and the very final sale for this issue was a '57 WW Corvette at a $305.00 bid!

All in all, an interesting week, some models noticeable lower, some gaining on their way up! If I had the time, it would be fun to GRAPH the prices posted during the week to get instant trends! I'll have to think of some way to squeeze 40 hours out of 24! Shouldn't be too hard as I hardly know what day it is anyway! When you work 12+ hour, 7 days a week, it all sort of melds together! (I need a LONG rest! Irene, where's that sanitarium's phone #? I think it's call Creedmore?) Enough for this week. Hope you still enjoy these little get togethers! Keep those questions, comments and RUMORS coming in! Enjoy the week everyone!

Regards, Roy
